The theme of this year’s conference is taken directly from Jesus’ hope-giving words “I Will Build My Church.” As the head of the church (Col. 1:18, ESV), Jesus makes a faith-building declaration about the church in Matthew 16:18b, “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
As pastors who plant and build local churches, our hope rests not in our labors, but in Jesus who promises to build and protect his church. Even in an age when the church is under attack, and being marginalized, we have hope, faith, and joy because the church of Jesus Christ is indestructible!
